Model Photoshoot in Kula, Maui, Hawaii

IMG_1878-fbI was given the chance to join in on a model photoshoot. The plan was to shoot in Haiku, on Maui’s North Shore but the storms were dumping all the rain all night and continued to do so into the morning. So we searched for the sun, and found it in Kula, up country on the slopes of Haleakala. Our model was a dream to work with and we all had a lot of fun. We found a few photogenic locations, our Kula rainbow was the first stop at the side of the road, causing a lot of passers by to slow down to check out our activities.. Standing in the middle of the road to shoot with my 100-400 lens was a bit risky though, I have to admit..

Our model was Delana Do-Wrong – and she could do no wrong! Winking smile

2012 Olympic Torch came to Godalming

Godalming was the first town in the UK to have electric street lighting, and today a flame came right through the center of town on its way to the 2012 London Olympics. The whole town  seemed to be lining the street eagerly waiting for the torch bearer to come into view.

Dramatic Pet Portrait

I’ve been experimenting with Photoshop and ended up with an image of my friends pussycat (no its not a panther) that I am very pleased with and want to share

Before Photoshopping

Local Barn Owl – Our Maui Resident.

We’ve had a barn owl visiting our property in Maui for 8 years now. I wonder if its the same one still.

I was walking down the drive at sunset, taking a stroll, and I should have had my camera with me because the barn owl flew right over my head.

He landed in a tulip tree about 100ft away, and seemed quite settled there, so I headed back to the house to fetch my camera. AND yes ! he was still there when i returned..

What a Beautiful bird !  Next time I should have my camera with me.. Tomorrows another day !

Autumn Robins announcing their territory

Meet Jim, my tame garden Robin. Takes mealworms from my hand and has taken up a tuneful residence in one corner of my garden. The garden is shared by other robins too, each with their own corner.
